I have used Reliable four times. Always great, professional people sent. Paul came out and was very methodical in resolving my breakers tripping randomly. They have also done some great new wiring installation work. Brent and Brian hooked up a pool heater for me. Prompt, cleaned up, thorough. Reliable takes care of getting permits if needed, stays on top of NEC and city specific requirements. They charge a great price and don't try to sell things you don't need. Scheduling is prompt and workmanship professional.

The "smart" switches that control our exterior lights gave out, and Paul came back out to replace them with "dumb" switches (I try to keep the hardware dumber than me to avoid problems...and Skynet). He quickly deciphered the unusual wiring and replaced the two switches, tested them, and also showed me how to access our generator's run history after I mentioned that we'd had a power outage about a month ago. I continue to be very happy with Reliable Electric's service.

I moved into my condo and discovered two outlets were unpowered. The two techs who came out diagnosed the problem and suggested a fix that would avoid tearing out drywall. I’m waiting for someone from there to give me an estimate on how much that might cost. I'm the property manager at a large apartment complex situated in downtown Dayton.We recently contracted Reliable to complete a full common hallway LED light upgrade - roughly 400 fixtures.The on-site team that completed the project was nothing short of incredible!Stevie and Jeremy were thorough, polite, respectful and fun to work with each day. I cannot say enough good things about Reliable Electric. We asked them to install 8 new recessed lights, replace 13 older recessed/can lights, install a whole house surge protector, install 3 new overhead fans/lights, and replace a handful of other switches. Garrett, Ben, Zack, and Cody all helped at different times - they were courteous, very knowledgeable, willing to answer all of my questions, and shared some great tips along the way. With some of the older lighting in our home the holes previously cut were larger than the newer recessed lighting requires, but they were quick to identify a solution (beauty rings) and had them ready to install the next day. I will gladly call reliable again with any of my future electrical needs and I strongly recommend them to anyone else in need of an electrician.

This is the first time I've used Reliable and am very impressed with the company and the quality of employees.This was a complicated job involving upgrading a 200 amp over head line from the pole into the house, then going to a 200 amp panel in the upstairs and on to an old 100 amp panel in the basement. It required removing the outside line and replacing it with a buried 400 amp line going through a concrete patio to a new meter. The new 400 amp meter box split into 200 amps going into the house panels and 200 amps going to a new panel in a newly built truck, tractor and hay storage barn, shop and other outbuildings.I interviewed four different companies, but Ryan with Reliable had the clearest, cleanest and most concise vision of what needed to be done and the equipment and crew to back it up.The first day five electricians arrived to install the new meter box and run a new 200 amp line from the upstairs panel to the basement panel along a cluttered and complicated route, drilling through a 16-in brick wall into the basement. Jamie seemed to be the lead personof the five and the primary communicator with me, the homeowner and customer. It was a cold day and she immediately took over the outside job of installing the new meter box and the outside connections with her helper. Jon and Jeremy and a quieter guy perhaps named Jacob methodically attacked the complicated but warmer inside part of the job. Every time I peeked in I was amazed at how much they all had gotten done in the amount of time since my previous checkup.When I returned home the first night there was an unexpected 50% power outage that they were surprised to hear about the next morning. Nonetheless they were here bright and early and had the mistake corrected within minutes. I don't know if it was the mistake or just their expertise and drive, but they doubled down in their efforts and got even more done the second day.Especially important to me was their willingness to explain what was going on and how it fit in with the overall plan. Jon and Jeremy were quiet at first but we're extremely helpful. Once they finished the new downstairs panel they labeled the breakers in pencil accurately and then we're respectfully communicative in helping me fine tune their labels. Having lived in this 1829 house for 38 years, it is finally clear which breaker supplies each and every outlet and appliance. To me this record is invaluable for saving trial and error time should there be future outages or remodels.In summary this is a fine team of young professionals dedicated to the customer and to the job that they are doing. It is clear that they like their work and that they are comfortable in their skin, knowing they are good at what they do. They bode well for the future of the country.

Appointment was to check on reason generator did not come on during a power outage. The reason was that after routine maintenance in June, the Reliable technician did not turn the generator back on. I asked the technician in the October appointment for assistance in connecting the generator to the Internet. Although he expressed a lack of skill with the connectivity technology, he tried three times to unsuccessfully connect and then suggested I make an appointment with a technician who is more proficient in this area. He was very polite and helpful but couldn’t get the job done. My first two experiences with the maintenance contract do not inspire confidence. I’m hoping you’ll do better.

Our home needed upgraded panels and we added outlets and a hot tub box. Ezra and Chade were polite, timely and helpful. They gave special attention to my garden around the area they were working in. These guys know how to run a business. Combine great communication start to finish with sharp sales & techs and reasonable prices.When requesting a quote for a garage subpanel to push L2 EV charger and a few outlets I was contacted within minutes. Estimator was out in a couple days and work was scheduled in a couple weeks.I was given discrete times for arrival the day of - not the obnoxious half day blocks normal for service calls. Project was completed in a timely fashion (~6 hours) with just a few questions to ensure installation was to my satisfaction.Regarding price, Reliable was $3000 cheaper than competitors estimate. They quoted service cable for the long run from main breaker panel as opposed to copper for considerable savings.Will use Reliable Electric for any house electrical projects I don't want to do personally.

When we moved to our new house the bedrooms were hot and had no overhead lighting, we got an estimate from Reliable Electric and couldn’t have been more excited for them to come. Paul from Reliable Electric came out 10/7 to add 2 new lights to kitchen ceiling and replace other 3, added under cabinet lighting, added recessed light at sink and replaced laundry room and hallway lights. There was another technician with Paul that day but I didn't get his name. They did a great job. Had it all done within 3 hours and made sure everything was cleaned up afterwards. Would definitely recommend Reliable Electric to others.

I have used this company for years and they have always been quick to respond, and extremely good at what they do. The cost is competitive and the work is far superior. Paul is the one who usually comes to my house and he really knows what he is doing. He has rewired outlets, light switches, fixtures, outdoor lamps, And every time he gets it right and does not stall around getting the job done. A lightning bolt struck my sons back yard causing damage to multiple electronic devices inside his home. I was concerned other electrical issues could also occur as a result of the strike. I have used Reliable Electric on several other electrical issues and I was always satisfied with their work. Reliable was able to schedule my job in a few days. On the morning of my appointment, Reliable texted me to let me know the technician was on his way with a photo of him. Paul Anthem arrived on time and I briefed him on the situation. He immediately went to work to diagnose any potential problems the surge may have caused. Paul had the experience and was equipped with the right tools and knowledge to determine an arch had occurred, but the electrical system was fine. I thought the inspection was priced fairly, and the peace of mind was worth it. The next time I need electrical work done, I’m calling Reliable Electric.

I’m glad this company did not kill my family. We used reliable electric to inspect our house prior to purchase. They recommended a replacement of our 2 200A panels which we did 2 years ago and added a 50A circuit. Total bill was about $4500. When we asked about an inspection we were told that was not necessary for the work. Flash forward 2 summers when the light in the pool went out I went to trip the breaker and noticed the breakers on 3 circuits for my pool equipment were installed without GFCI protection. I spoke with 3 different people and explained the situation but Reliable was not willing to come out and correct their mistake. I’m looking for a new electric company and would advise you to consider doing the same. At a minimum, learn from my mistake and inspect their work before paying. They are not likely to stand behind it.

I highly recommend Reliable Electric for anyone who needs an electrician. We have an attic fan that stopped working. I called Reliable and an estimator, Adam, I believe came promptly, checked the problem and identified that it was the fan motor that was broken. Alicia followed up to schedule the repair. Cody & Ben arrived on time, were courteous, professional and personable. The fan was located in a very cramped space and it was a challenge to remove and replace it. I lost power to an assisted living memory care unit that I manage about 11pm last night. I called the 24 hour emergency line for Reliable and Ben answered. When I told him what was going on, there were no other words than absolutely in on my way to help, even though or building was almost an hour from his home. When Ben arrived he understood the delicate nature of the folks in our building and went to work immediately. After a bit Ben realized our problem couldn't be fixed by him as it was a missing leg of power through AES. I called AES and was told they would dispatch someone out. This is typically the point in which most electric companies would wish you luck and move on. Ben however stayed, met with AES to diagnose the problem, and then once the problem was resolved walked the entire building to ensure everything was safe and working correctly. Almost forgot that this was now 3AM in the morning. Ben, thank you for going above and beyond to ensure our residents were safe, you are one of a kind!

Reliable Electric installed a new 3 prong range receptacle today. The office booked an appointment in a timely manner and kept us informed of appointment time. The electrician - Garrett Anderson called and let us unknown his arrival time and was right on schedule. He did a professional job with personality, enthusiasm, and explained what he did. Great work Garrett.

I needed a dedicated 20A GFCI protected line run from our circuit breaker box to a bathroom on the other side of the house. I had Reliable electric provide a quote as well as another established contractor. The quote from Reliable was about 40% lower than the competition and in line with what I expected.Garrett and Ezra showed up today to do the install. My first impression was very good as they introduced themselves and we went over the job which entailed going into an open attic area, finding the location to snake a line down an outside wall of the house and installing a new outlet.They accomplished the job in a pretty quick timeframe. The result was neat and they even cleaned up the dust from there they had to cut the drywall. I was very impressed with their work and would not hesitate to recommend Reliable Electric for any job.

We had an electrical emergency and called the big "A" company we used all the time and was told it would be three days. And this was to address something they had previously "fixed."We called Reliable and they found a way to respond the same day and when Jeff arrived in the evening he would not leave until the situation was resolved - which was great since we were leaving on vacation the next day.Next time we have a need this is the company we are going to call - thanks Jeff for all you did!

Dustin and Ethan arrived when they said they would and were finished with the project (installing new smoke alarms) in half the time I expected! Personable, professional, and knowledgeable about their craft explaining to me everything that they did. Reliable Electric…I give them 5-stars and a double thumbs up!!

Updated review with work from 2024. I still feel much the same about Reliable but they’ve increased their pricing a bit which impacts the value for me. Work was good though.Reliable electric has serviced our home multiple times and has always delivered results. The electricians are professional and clean, and also extremely helpful when sharing their insight and expertise. The electricians who have been in our home are Jamie, Garret, Cody, Ben, Jimmy, and Jonathan. All have provided us 5 stars service.Will be scheduling more work in 2022! Thank you guys

3.9/5Great workers, but the same cannot be said about the management who deals in business practices that would and should be looked down on in disgust.I had the opportunity to work with and be in contact with the upper management at Reliable for a handful of projects. Discussing numbers, orders, project materials, etc.But whats discerning is that I have received multiple emails from General Contractors, Customers and supply houses, stating that the staff were "trying to veer us away from supplying or working with any other place [Company]."And these childish "persuasions" were not done through the typical marketing means, mud slinging other companies and employees was a common theme in the messages I've been sent.So If you would like to support professional management in electrical contractors, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.Kenneth M

Paul Anthem was our technician and we will be requesting him every time. Paul was outstanding and took the time to troubleshoot our problem and explain what he was doing. Our home is over 100 years old. We were amazed that he found the problem!! Cody replaced the light fixture on my lamp post. He also installed a photo cell sensor, a new outlet because the cover was missing on the old one, and a post cross arm. A challenge to do on an old post but he made it all fit and work! Looks great! Thanks, Cody, for a job well done!5/13/2024Problems with outdoor light above the garage door working erratically and outdoor corner motion light working without stopping. Cody and Ben assessed the situation and worked as a team to solve the problems. Cody even installed new bulbs which I had and cleaned out the accumulated bugs and cleaned the glass panes on the outdoor garage light. I really appreciated and was pleased with Cody and Ben’s work.

We choose Reliable Electric for all of our electrical work needs because they are honest, reliable, professional, and they do excellent work! We will be using them to replace all of the lighting in our house as we're updating our decor!UPDATE: Ethan and Dustin were back today to install new light fixtures in our house, inside and out! Initially gave score of 4 out of 5 - single circuit wiring issue (200 amp vs. 100 amp circuit) caused bathroom lamp bulbs to blow - issue resolved in a timely fashion with another service call. Understandable for an old house w/out color coded wiring. Very professional. I would use them again.Update: yesterday, 2nd phase of the project was completed for exterior electrical work. Given the totality of my experience with Reliable Electric, I'm updating their score to 5/5. Total professionals.
