I cannot say enough good things about Reliable Electric. We asked them to install 8 new recessed lights, replace 13... older recessed/can lights, install a whole house surge protector, install 3 new overhead fans/lights, and replace a handful of other switches. Garrett, Ben, Zack, and Cody all helped at different times - they were courteous, very knowledgeable, willing to answer all of my questions, and shared some great tips along the way. With some of the older lighting in our home the holes previously cut were larger than the newer recessed lighting requires, but they were quick to identify a solution (beauty rings) and had them ready to install the next day. I will gladly call reliable again with any of my future electrical needs and I strongly recommend them to anyone else in need of an electrician.read more

This is the first time I've used Reliable and am very impressed with the company and the quality of employees.This... was a complicated job involving upgrading a 200 amp over head line from the pole into the house, then going to a 200 amp panel in the upstairs and on to an old 100 amp panel in the basement. It required removing the outside line and replacing it with a buried 400 amp line going through a concrete patio to a new meter. The new 400 amp meter box split into 200 amps going into the house panels and 200 amps going to a new panel in a newly built truck, tractor and hay storage barn, shop and other outbuildings.I interviewed four different companies, but Ryan with Reliable had the clearest, cleanest and most concise vision of what needed to be done and the equipment and crew to back it up.The first day five electricians arrived to install the new meter box and run a new 200 amp line from the upstairs panel to the basement panel along a cluttered and complicated route, drilling through a 16-in brick wall into the basement. Jamie seemed to be the lead personof the five and the primary communicator with me, the homeowner and customer. It was a cold day and she immediately took over the outside job of installing the new meter box and the outside connections with her helper. Jon and Jeremy and a quieter guy perhaps named Jacob methodically attacked the complicated but warmer inside part of the job. Every time I peeked in I was amazed at how much they all had gotten done in the amount of time since my previous checkup.When I returned home the first night there was an unexpected 50% power outage that they were surprised to hear about the next morning. Nonetheless they were here bright and early and had the mistake corrected within minutes. I don't know if it was the mistake or just their expertise and drive, but they doubled down in their efforts and got even more done the second day.Especially important to me was their willingness to explain what was going on and how it fit in with the overall plan. Jon and Jeremy were quiet at first but we're extremely helpful. Once they finished the new downstairs panel they labeled the breakers in pencil accurately and then we're respectfully communicative in helping me fine tune their labels. Having lived in this 1829 house for 38 years, it is finally clear which breaker supplies each and every outlet and appliance. To me this record is invaluable for saving trial and error time should there be future outages or remodels.In summary this is a fine team of young professionals dedicated to the customer and to the job that they are doing. It is clear that they like their work and that they are comfortable in their skin, knowing they are good at what they do. They bode well for the future of the country.read more

Appointment was to check on reason generator did not come on during a power outage. The reason was that after routine... maintenance in June, the Reliable technician did not turn the generator back on. I asked the technician in the October appointment for assistance in connecting the generator to the Internet. Although he expressed a lack of skill with the connectivity technology, he tried three times to unsuccessfully connect and then suggested I make an appointment with a technician who is more proficient in this area. He was very polite and helpful but couldn’t get the job done. My first two experiences with the maintenance contract do not inspire confidence. I’m hoping you’ll do better.read more

Combine great communication start to finish with sharp sales & techs and... reasonable prices.When requesting a quote for a garage subpanel to push L2 EV charger and a few outlets I was contacted within minutes. Estimator was out in a couple days and work was scheduled in a couple weeks.I was given discrete times for arrival the day of - not the obnoxious half day blocks normal for service calls. Project was completed in a timely fashion (~6 hours) with just a few questions to ensure installation was to my satisfaction.Regarding price, Reliable was $3000 cheaper than competitors estimate. They quoted service cable for the long run from main breaker panel as opposed to copper for considerable savings.Will use Reliable Electric for any house electrical projects I don't want to do personally.read more

Paul & Justin replaced faulty bathroom switch, and installed a new dining room light fixture. They did an excellent job. A lightning bolt struck my sons back yard causing damage to multiple electronic devices inside his home. I was... concerned other electrical issues could also occur as a result of the strike. I have used Reliable Electric on several other electrical issues and I was always satisfied with their work. Reliable was able to schedule my job in a few days. On the morning of my appointment, Reliable texted me to let me know the technician was on his way with a photo of him. Paul Anthem arrived on time and I briefed him on the situation. He immediately went to work to diagnose any potential problems the surge may have caused. Paul had the experience and was equipped with the right tools and knowledge to determine an arch had occurred, but the electrical system was fine. I’m glad this company did not kill my family. We used reliable electric to inspect our house prior to purchase. They... recommended a replacement of our 2 200A panels which we did 2 years ago and added a 50A circuit. Total bill was about $4500. When we asked about an inspection we were told that was not necessary for the work. Flash forward 2 summers when the light in the pool went out I went to trip the breaker and noticed the breakers on 3 circuits for my pool equipment were installed without GFCI protection. I spoke with 3 different people and explained the situation but Reliable was not willing to come out and correct their mistake. I’m looking for a new electric company and would advise you to consider doing the same. At a minimum, learn from my mistake and inspect their work before paying. They are not likely to stand behind it.read more

I am. 5+ stars for Paul. My electricity went out yesterday during this heat wave. I was lucky enough to get an early morning appointment. Paul was here on time. Very courteous and professional. He assessed the situation and made quick work out of the issue. I was terrified it would take a long time. Not with Paul, he knew exactly what to do and told me what he was doing every step of the process. He even noticed another issue and took care of it so as I wouldn’t have to have another problem. He had everything right with him or in the truck. He was making sure everything looked good as well as worked correctly so that I wouldn’t get shocked or cause damage to anything. I lost power to an assisted living memory care unit that I manage about 11pm last night. I called the 24 hour... emergency line for Reliable and Ben answered. When I told him what was going on, there were no other words than absolutely in on my way to help, even though or building was almost an hour from his home. When Ben arrived he understood the delicate nature of the folks in our building and went to work immediately. After a bit Ben realized our problem couldn't be fixed by him as it was a missing leg of power through AES. I called AES and was told they would dispatch someone out. This is typically the point in which most electric companies would wish you luck and move on. Ben however stayed, met with AES to diagnose the problem, and then once the problem was resolved walked the entire building to ensure everything was safe and working correctly. Almost forgot that this was now 3AM in the morning. Ben, thank you for going above and beyond to ensure our residents were safe, you are one of a kind!read more

I needed a dedicated 20A GFCI protected line run from our circuit breaker box to a bathroom on the other side of the... house. I had Reliable electric provide a quote as well as another established contractor. The quote from Reliable was about 40% lower than the competition and in line with what I expected.Garrett and Ezra showed up today to do the install. My first impression was very good as they introduced themselves and we went over the job which entailed going into an open attic area, finding the location to snake a line down an outside wall of the house and installing a new outlet.They accomplished the job in a pretty quick timeframe. The result was neat and they even cleaned up the dust from there they had to cut the drywall. I was very impressed with their work and would not hesitate to recommend Reliable Electric for any job.read more

Awesome company… we have a major home remodel underway to make it ADA compliant. Paul Anthem is the professional... working on the project. His ownership of the work is outstanding. He thinks ahead and shares possible options for me to consider. He suggested other work while the walls and ceilings were open, which led to me having good light in my closet for the first time since we’ve owned this home. He comes in to trouble shoot after hours (when he’s finished other jobs and not when he’s scheduled) just to make sure it’s all set up for success. He came in on a Saturday to ensure the next week’s work by other contractors wasn’t impeded by the electrical work. Brandon and Ethan were efficient and extremely professional. Once on-site, the guys isolated and quickly resolved the issue with our wiring. After completing the work they took the time to clearly explain what had occurred. The price was less than we anticipated and they also added-in a veteran’s discount. Finding an electrician is challenging, so I researched all the nominees for Best of Dayton. Fortunately, after the... research, I reached out to Reliable Electric. They scheduled a few quote, arrived as scheduled, and politely listened to the long list of work I needed. After accepting their quote, they promptly called to schedule the work (and got new scheduled a week earlier then they anticipated). Their team was amazing.
